Polymorphism by surface crystallisation by Roland Resel , Institute of Solid State Physics, Graz University of Technology, Austria
Monday, 4 December 2023, 12 PM, ICMAB - Sala d'Actes Carles Miravitlles
New types of crystal structures can be obtained by the presence of a surface during the crystallisation process. Variation of material properties can be obtained, since the type of crystal structure determines the performance of a specific application. Unknown polymorphs are frequently observed for organic electronic molecules but also for pharmaceutical molecules and metal-organic frameworks. The talk will describe the current knowledge in the field of surface crystallization.
