Projects Calls

The programme by Women for Africa Foundation is open to applications for visiting senior research fellowships, made possible through partnerships with Spanish Centers of Excellence, such as ICMAB. This programme offers a six-month opportunity for senior African women researchers, with a proposal submission deadline of September 30.

NANBIOSIS opens in June the 2nd competitive open call 2023 for its “Cutting-Edge Biomedical Solutions” and services. At ICMAB we host the U6 of NANBIOSIS: Biomaterial Processing and Nanostructuring Unit. 

Muhammad Ahsan Saeed will work on indoor organic photovoltaics, Silvia Damerio on spintronic devices and Daniel Martin on organic electronic devices. 

The Marie Sklodowska Curie (MSCA) Postdoctoral Fellowships (PF) 2022 call results were announced by the European Commission in February 2023. The call will facilitate the incorporation of 1,235 experienced postdoctoral researchers to R+D institutions (research centers, universities, private and public organisation and small and medium-sized enterprises), 177of them in Spain, 31 of them at the CSIC, and 3 of them here at ICMAB.

The deadline is 30 September 2022 to apply for the 8th edition of this programme of the Women for Africa Foundation. 

A senior African women researcher will develop a research project during a 6-month stay at ICMAB. 

The Fundación Mujeres por África (FMxA)(Women for Africa Foundation) is partnering with the Spanish ‘Severo Ochoa’ and other Centers of Excellence to bring the Science by Women programme to fruition. The project intends to host women researchers from African countries, so they can benefit from these research internships to promote and lead the scientific innovation that contributes to tackling the great challenges faced by African countries through research in health and biomedicine, sustainable agriculture and food security, water, energy and climate change.

ICMAB is part of the NFFA-Europe Pilot (NEP) project, which provides researchers across Europe with a wide array of scientific and technical services to characterize and prepare nanomaterials, Applications for access can be sent in until 1 September 2021 to enter the first call. The Institut d’Estudis Catalans (IEC), with the aim to encourage and promote scientific research in the area of Catalan culture and language, opens a new call to award institutions and people that, with their effort and work, have contributed to attain the Institute's mission. For the interest of our resarchers, the Chemistry, Physics, Technology and Biology Catalan Societies, open the call for research projects (University Degrees, Master and Highschool Projects). The SOCIEMAT Awards Deadline is coming close! The Sociedad Española de Materiales (SOCIEMAT) recognizes efforts in the promotion and dissemination of research through this awards. Don't miss your chance to participate!

The Efficient Energy Cluster of Catalonia (CEEC), the Community RIS3CAT Energy and the Network of R&D&I: Energy for Society (XRE4S), organize the Energy Innovation Day, on October 8, 2020. This day of innovation seeks to connect the needs of companies with technology and investors. The day will promote the identification of possible solutions with new technology partners and the establishment of potential synergies. 

The researchers from four ICMAB Research Groups will be joining another 35 groups from 14 different universities, as well as research and technology centers, with the objective of boosting the energy sector in Catalunya and turning it into a strong international referent for innovation, at the R+D+I Energy for Society Network (XRE4S). 

Since the coronavirus outbreak in Spain, in February-March 2020, many of the research funding agencies, the European Commission, and private institutions have opened research project calls to face the COVID-19.
