In this edition there is a special prize for stories about Archaeology. Texts of a maximum of 800 words can be sent, in the young or adult category, and in Spanish, Catalan, Galician or Basque. The deadline for receipt of stories is June 4, 2023.

Experiences of "A researcher in your classroom 2.0" - online school visits

Even if we cannot go to schools face-to-face, ICMAB researchers have "visited" some schools using online platforms during these last months. For us it is important to still go to schools, to knock down the walls between young students and scientists, "for most of them it is the first time they meet someone who works as a researcher" says Judit Morlà Folch, one of the researchers who has participated.

First meeting of the CSIC Equality Committees at ICM-Institut de Ciències del Mar

The Institut de Ciències del Mar (ICM-CSIC), in coordination with the CSIC Equality Committee and the CSIC Women and Science Committee, is promoting the first meeting of the Equality Committees of the CSIC centers on December 10, 2020. Anna May Masnou, Communication & Outreach Officer and member of the ICMAB Gender Equality Committee, will represent the ICMAB at the conference, where everyone is invited.

On 18 November 2020, Valentina Raffio, science journalist, interviewed ICMAB researcher at the Nanomol Group Judith Guasch in the framework of the CosmoCaixa Live Talks organized by CosmoCaixa and the Catalan Association of Science Communication (ACCC). The event took place online on CosmoCaixa Facebook Live and is now available online.

27-28 Nov 2020: Are you ready for the Researchers' Night in Catalonia?

The programme includes both online and face-to-face activities organized by more than 50 entities throughout Catalonia. The ICMAB will collaborate in some of the activities programmed. The OPTOFEM 2020 school counted with 85 participants from around the world

The OPTOFEM 2020 School on Optically Controlled Ferroelectric Memristors held its first edition in an online format on 22-23 October 2020. The ICMAB school was a huge success, and counted with more than 85 participants from 18 countries around the world, who attended more than 16 hours of lectures on the topic.

Participate in the Matheroes Virtual Escape to help them achieve the SDGs

"Matheroes: The Box" is a science outreach project designed by the Institute of Materials Science of Barcelona (ICMAB-CSIC) in collaboration with the Spanish Foundation for Science and Technology (FECYT) - Ministry of Science and Innovation. Participants of the Virtual Escape will have to solve some problems and challenges related to the research in advanced materials for energy, electronics and health, to save the Matheroes from their prison and face the SDGs.
