A new ferromagnetic material displaying a negative magnetoresistance is obtained by partial topotactic substitution of oxygen by nitrogen (Sr2FeMoO4.9N1.1). Interestingly the N/O substitution does not break the long ranger cationic order of the double perovskite Sr2FeMoO6 matrix
