The PhD Researcher Maria Serena Maglione from the NANOMOL group defended her PhD thesis on "Preparation of electroactive self-assembled monolayers for the fabrication of advanced electronic devices" on Friday, 27 April. Her friends and family joined her during the defense of her thesis, which was evaluated by Fabio Biscarini (Universitá di Modena e Reggio Emilia), Arántzazu González (ICMAB) and Emilio Pérez (IMDEA Nanociencia). The thesis supervisors were Marta Mas-Torrent and Concepció Rovira.

Today we pay homage to a new doctor in our center. She is Doctor Anna Esther Carrillo Fernández and obtained her new Ph.D on February 8 after the lecture of “Mecanismos de crecimiento y desarrollo microestructural de cerámicas superconductoras texturadas”.
We congratulate Anna May for obtaining the Extraordinary Ph.D Award for her thesis entitled “Insights into nanomaterials: from surfactant systems to meso/macroporous materials and nanoparticles“, carried out at the Chemical Engineering Department of the Universitat de Barcelona (UB), and supervised by José María Gutiérrez and Montserrat Porras.
