Abstract: This thesis focuses on the fabrication, optimization, characterization and application of organic semiconductors:insulating polymer blends for electrolyte-gated organic field-effect transistors (EGOFETs), which are considered as a promising sensing platform to detect the event in liquid. Although several research works have demonstrated the high potential of using EGOFETs as sensing platform, some unsolved problems (i.e. low electrical performance and fast degradation) are actually hindering their practical application.
Within this context, the first part of thesis aims to obtain robust EGOFETs based on combining OSC: polymer blends together with a solution-shearing technique. The following two parts are concentrated on developing a mercury ion sensor and a pressure sensor based on the robust EGOFET platform.
