Hi everyone! My name is Yajie Zhang. I’ve just got a master degree in Applied Chemistry in the Ocean University of China, now I am joining you at ICMAB for the next 4 years for my Ph.D study in the group of Nanoparticles and Nanocomposites (N&N). I will work on “Nanocapsules as drug delivery carriers for pro-angiogenic therapies”under the supervision of Anna Roig and Anna Rosell (Vall d’Hebron Research Institute (VHIR)). Apart from science, I am fond of roller skating, singing and LOL e-sport. See you around!
I am Daichi, from Kyoto, Japan. I am majoring in physical chemistry in my college. During my internship, I will study about the measurement of thermoelectric IR microsensors. And I have played football for more than ten years, so I want to play it here!
I'm joining ICMAB (as a RyC scientist) to work within the multifunctional oxides group. My work experience and interests are magnetism and spintronics in mesoscopic systems. Currently, I seek new types of information processing inspired on how the brain works; I consider that exploiting complexity of magnetic and electric signals at the nanoscale is an alternative approach to device miniaturization. I believe there is life outside the lab and we, scientists, must connect our work with society. By the way, my name is Ferran Macià and I look forward to meeting and collaborating with you.
I am Rosa and I am from Madrid.
I am lucky because I am a PhD student of X-Ray Cryogenic detectors and their Physics based in superconductors in ICMAB, before I worked as a technician for almost 4 years in several Research Institutes in Madrid.
I love travelling, knowing new places and learning new things everyday.
I will be between Barcelona and Zaragoza because I will do some tasks in Zaragoza (double lucky I am). This is my first time in Barcelona but very happy to be here, in a city with so many good references.
Hi everyone! My name is Anna, and I hold a Ph.D. in Materials Science and Technology from the Universitat de Barcelona. My thesis focused on silica mesoporous materials and nanoparticles. I have entered the ICMAB to perform a postdoc at the Nanoparticles and Nanocomposites group, with Dr. Anna Roig. The idea is to work with bacterial cellulose and nanoparticles, to optimize the synthesis and nanostructure of novel composite materials, and to study some specific applications, such as photocatalysis or batteries. I'm really looking forward to it, and to share my next few years with the people at the ICMAB. Apart from science, I love to dance the lindy hop and travel around the globe!
Hi everyone! My name is Eduardo Pérez. I'm from Palencia (Spain). I have studied Chemical Engineering and a Master in Biomedical Research in the University of Valladolid, and I came to the ICMAB to do my PhD about Dynamic Hydrogels for their applications in Immunotherapy for Cancer under de supervision of Imma Ratera and Judith Guash. I would like to enjoy with you this new experience, working togheter and spending good times with you.
My name is Jukka and I come from Oulu, Finland. I am joining to SUMAN-team as a design engineer. My main task here will be LabVIEW-programming.
I like sports, movies and traveling.
I look forward following years here at ICMAB and Barcelona :)
See you around at ICMAB!
My name is Jose Muñoz. Recently, I have finished my PhD in the Sensors and Biosensors group at the Autonomous University of Barcelona (UAB). I am glad to come back to ICMAB five years later, this time as a post-doctoral researcher in the NANOMOL group under the supervision of Dr. Marta Mas and Dr. Núria Crivillers. My research is focused on the tunability of different platforms with nanostructured carbon materials for the development of multi-analyte electrochemical pollutant sensors.
my name is Deyaa, I am an Egyptian PhD student working on optimizing bacterial cellulose to produce some composites which can serve as efficient electronic components with the NN group,
See you around.
My name is Ana Begoña Buades Martín, I from Mallorca. I got my degree in Chemistry from Universitat de les Illes Balears, my master in pharmacy from Universidad de Granada and now I am starting my PhD in the ICMAB. I am working in Inorganic Materials and Catalysis research group with Professor Francesc Teixidor.
My name is Gemma and I am from Barcelona. I have a Bachelor's degree in Business Administration and Management from the Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona.
I am the administrative accountant at spin-off OXOLUTIA and I will work with Albert Calleja on financial and organizational matters.
Hi! My name is Núria Portolés. I got my degree in Chemistry at UAB and a master's degree in Green Chemistry at UJI (Castelló) in collaboration with IUCT. I’ll stay at ICMAB as a PhD student in the supercritical fluids and functional materials group under the supervision of Prof Concha Domingo and Dr. Ana López-Periago.
My name is Luiz Pinto, I'm from Portugal. I have recently completed my PhD in Science and Chemical Technology at the University of Santiago de Compostela (Spain) in the Center for Research in Biological Chemistry and Molecular Materials (CiQUS). I'll stay at ICMAB as post-doctoral researcher in the NANOMOL group under the supervision of Dr. José Vidal Gancedo. My work deals with the synthesis and study of organic radicals for high sensitivity NMR experiments (DNP-NMR) and magnetic resonance imaging (MRI).
See you around!
Hello, everyone! My name is Jike Lyu,I got my master degree from Northeastern University in China. I have the honour to join the " Magnetic Materials and Functional Oxides" group of ICMAB under the supervision of Florencio Sanchez for P.hD degree. I like travelling and singing. Looking forward a great life during the following years in Barcelona!
