The Nanostructured Materials for Optoelectronics and Energy Generation (NANOPTO) group has auto-edited a video in which the process of fabrication or organic solar cells with thickness gradients is explained. This process is part of the ERC project by Mariano Campoy-Quiles "FOREMAT: Finding a needle in a haystack: Efficient identification of high performing organic energy materials".
"The thickness of the active is one of the key parameters that needs to be optimized in order to evaluate the potential of novel organic materials for photovoltaic applications. In this video we show how to fabricate devices with a gradient in thickness which enables the highthroughput determination of the optimum thickness"
See the full explanation of the procedure in this video, which is a talk of Mariano Campoy-Quiles entitled "Ultrafast evaluation of thin film photovoltaic materials using thickness and composition lateral gradients" given at the "Stability of Emerging Photovoltaics: from Fundamentals to Applications" (SEPV18) Conference in Barcelona (COST Action MP1307 Meeting).
