Madrid, 7-8 JUNE 2018: 1st Spanish Conference on Biomedical Applications of Nanomaterials (SBAN)

The Instituto de Ciencia de Materiales de Madrid (ICMM-CSIC) organizes the 1st Spanish Conference on Biomedical Applications of Nanomaterials (SBAN) on June 7-8, 2018. SBAN is expected to provide a unique opportunity for discussing the cutting-edge research and progress in the field of nanomedicine.

To promote discussions, SBAN will bring together those researchers, senior and junior, working in the vast field of nanomedicine. Through plenary, short talks and posters, the conference will cover the main aspects of this field by leading researchers working in Spain. SBAN will have a broad audience of people interested in this field with different backgrounds, from chemistry and biology to physics and medicine.

  • "Química i Cel·luloide": Cinema and Science at the CSIC "Residència d'Investigadors"

    The CSIC in Catalunya and the CSIC "Residència d'Investigadors" organize a cycle about cinema and science during May-June 2019 to celebrate the 150 years of the Periodic Table. The films that will be shown (for free!) are: "Marie Curie", Temple Grandin", "Wall-E" and "Her". All the films will be on Friday at 6:30 pm, and will be introduced by a CSIC researcher.

    The journal Physics highlights a study about gender and physics published in Physical Review Physics Education Research: "A survey of female undergraduates in physics found that three quarters of them experience some form of sexual harassment, leaving them alienated from the field".
