RMIT Europe has just opened a position in Barcelona for a Nano Research Fellow to work on an EU project. 

The Role & Your Responsibilities

The Research Fellow will work based at RMIT Europe and the primary focus will be to deliver on RMIT Europe’s objectives under the H2020 project GoNano. This will involve reviewing best practice for responsible research and innovation in the field of nanotechnology and engagement with citizens, industry and professional stakeholders, researchers from RMIT University and collaborators in Europe.

The key responsibility will be running a pilot study on the use of new methods in Responsible Research and Innovation for co-creation of specific nanotechnologies in the field of ‘energy’ (including production, storage, management and efficient use), and contribute to similar pilot studies in the fields of ‘health’ and ‘food’. The position will need to engage with GoNano stakeholders in Spanish, but will also be required to communicate at an excellent level in English. In addition to working on the GoNano project, the position will also support RMIT Europe activities to engage with European academia and industry, in particular through the development of funding proposals.

Skills & Experience Required

As the successful candidate you will demonstrate research experience in nanotechnology (with applications in energy or safety preferred). You will also have the ability to engage with diverse stakeholders spanning science, technology, industry and society. Your ability to prepare high quality competitive grant applications and the ability to clearly communicate research results, concepts and knowledge will be imperative to your success in this role. High level proficiency in English and another European language (preferred). The ability to work in Spain is essential.
