Bio

I obtained my PhD from Tokyo University of Agriculture and Technology in 2000 for research into the carbon-oxygen/sulfur bond activation by low valent transition metal complexes, carried out with Prof. S. Komiya. Then I moved to the Universite Pierre et Marie Courie with Prof. E. Rose as a postdoctoral researcher to work on organometallic complexes for NLO properties. Later I was awarded a Humboldt Fellowship (2001) to work with Prof. J. A. Gladysz in Erlangen (Germany) in an organometallic and catalysis project. Then I moved to Bellaterra with Prof. F. Teixidor at LMI (ICMAB) as a postdoctoral fellow (I3P program, 2003-2006). I obtained a tenure track position (Ramón y Cajal Program) in 2007 and a permanent tenure scientific position in 2008 in the same research group.

 


Research interest

My research focuses on the synthesis, characterization and application of inorganic (boron based) and inorganic-organic hybrid solids. My focus for several years has been on the development of new carborane based ligands or linkers for preparing a variety of molecular, supramolecular and polymeric materials. The following are the main areas of interest in this research:

1. New concepts in Metal-Organic Framework (MOF) Chemistry.

2. Multiffunctional Molecular Materials.

3. Crystal Engineering.
