Bio
Sílvia Illa-Tuset enrolled her PhD in 2015 at University Autonomous of Barcelona (UAB) in Bellaterra (Spain). During the first two years of her PhD she was eligible as an ESR within the Initial Training Network (ITN) of Marie Curie Actions and for that she moved to Bangalore (India) at Jawaharlal Nehru Centre for Advanced Scientific Research University (JNCASR). Afterwards, she came back to ICMAB-CSIC to continue her PhD under the direction of Dr. Jordi Faraudo (Theory and Simulation Department) and Dr. Nora Ventosa (Nanomol Group).
Research interest
Sílvia Illa-Tuset's research is based on atomistic molecular dynamics (MD) simulations to investigate the conformational dynamics of composite systems and for explaining and interpreting the results of experiments (mainly spectroscopic properties) designed to elucidate those dynamics. To explain the experimental findings, she carries out large-scale MD simulations by considering a vesicle structure named Quatsome (QS) as a versatile and stable scaffold for nanostructuring organic dyes with different properties.
