2018-10-9: Happy #NationalNanotechnologyDay!
The National Nanotechnology Day (USA) started in 2016, and since then, many organizations have started to organize activities around this topic, from videos, webminars, new websites, poster presentatins, lab tours.
This year activites are summarized here: https://www.nano.gov/node/2094. We would like to highlight the following, in which we can participate from abroad:
- ACS Publications webinar: Too Small to Stay Put – Pushing the Boundaries with Nanoscience, Oct. 9 at from 10 a.m. ET to 12 p.m. ET. (ACS)
- NND 2018 showcased on “ACS Nanotechnology” webpage (ACS)
- Posting of blog outlining what National Nanotechnology Day is and why it is important; blog will be linked from the ACC Nanotechnology webpage; call-out to blog in rotating banner on ACC Nanotechnology webpage. (American Chemistry Council)
- National Nanotechnology Day USA: Collection of recent articles published in three journals of the Royal Society of Chemistry: Nanoscale Horizons, Nanoscale, and Nanoscale Advances. In celebration of National Nanotechnology Day, all of the articles in this collection are free to access by anyone until Nov. 9, 2018. (Users will need to create a free account if they don’t already have an account with the Royal Society of Chemistry; it should take only a few minutes to create a free account.) (RSC)
And we would like to share with you this graphic from Coumpound Interest, to see that nanotechnology is in our everyday's life:
In Catalonia, we have many organizations and associations working for the dissemination and communication of nanotechnology, including the group EspaiNANO (from the ACCC) and the Catalan Nanoscience and Nanotechnology Society (SCN2). This year they have dedicated most of their events to celebrate the 100 years of Feynman (FeynmanTotal).
